The circus comes into town in the late afternoon. It's a quiet caravan, but the whispers start immediately. It's not a regular circus. This one - this is the Camelot circus. One of the most esteemed traveling acts in the country, and not for the faint of heart. This one has a flaming sword eater and a terrifying magician.

A few brave people try to peek at the preparations, but once the big tent is up, all that can really be seen are food stands being set up, and a few podiums for acts unknown. Everything else is hidden from view. You want to see? Come buy a ticket.

Arthur leads him back downstairs, into the west wing of the house. He opens a large door, leading into a dimly lit room with rows and rows of bookshelves.

"Wow," Merlin breathes, eyes widening even farther.

[royalpratness]

"It's brilliant, isn't it?" Arthur smiles, proudly.

[ayoungboy]

"Absolutely incredible," Merlin nods dumbly.

"Go on, have a look around."

Merlin slowly breaks off from Arthur, walking through the rows of books in awe.

((yup! and I'm going to bed now...at 8pm lol. o/ ttyl!))

Arthur leans against a bookcase, watching Merlin, a smile on his face. "You can come here and read whenever you like."

[ooc: kk! I'll probably be on when you wake up xD ]

"Really?" Merlin grins, excited.

"Of course. I don't always have the time to read and it'd be a shame to let it gather dust."

Merlin hugs Arthur suddenly and tightly. "Thank you..."

Arthur is a bit surprised but returns the hug. "Anytime."

Merlin hugs him for a long moment before slowly pulling back, blushing. No one's ever been this kind.

(( I have no idea xD He's soooo pretty too lol. We didn't manage to go to the stage door D: we had to catch the last train. such a shame))

"You can take them out here and read them in your room, if you want." Arthur runs a finger over a dusty surface.

"Thank you," Merlin says again very sincere.

"Stop thanking me." Arthur huffs, sitting down in a nearby chair.

"Why?" Merlin looks over the books reverently.

[royalpratness]

"Because it's only natural that I offer to share this with you." Arthur shrugs, watching Merlin.

[ayoungboy]

"Natural?" Merlin picks up a dusty volume and wipes it off slowly.

[royalpratness]

"Yes, natural. Nobody besides me ever comes here to read. Now that you're here and with your obvious interest in literature, it'd be a shame not to share these with you." Arthur rests an arm over the back of the chair.

[ayoungboy]

Merlin chuckles, examining the book. "Then it's quite natural of me to thank you for your kindness."

[royalpratness]

"Fair enough." Arthur grins over at him. "Do you celebrate Christmas at the circus?"

[ayoungboy]

"Not particularly. I mean, we have mass and everything, but no presents."

[royalpratness]

((my university has just been evacuated because of a hurricane x_x))

"No tree?" Arthur asks.

[ayoungboy]

((ooc: Oh dear! I'm home sick D: ))

"Certainly not. Who wants to go out and get a tree in the cold?"

[royalpratness]

((aww I'm sorry to hear that :( flu? ))

"I do, actually." Arthur raises an eyebrow. "It's a tradition here that I go out and get the tree."
