Spellbound

This week has been fucking exhausting. He'd been consuling all week and dealing with a threat over in Norway. Somebody trying to brew mind control potions, again. Why couldn't everybody just get along and stop fussing? He's finally back home, in England, heading up the wizarding council while they go over worldwide news, and he gets an invite - no, it isn't that. It's more of a demand, from King Pendragon.

He's a bit tired, really, and didn't feel like dealing with it. "Not now, thank you. Politely decline, for me?" He told the runner. "Send him some magical candy."

He just wanted to go home and finish his book, thank you. He didn't ask for these powers, but if he took a holiday the world would flip out. People held him in high regard for some reason - he wasn't that wise, or old. He was just a young man trying to do right. Yet somehow the King was demanding his presence.

"I normally kill them." Merlin's eyes flash gold. "And leave one to report back to his master. They must understand that the King is truly protected."

[royalpratness]

"Kill them?" Arthur frowns, not happy with that answer. "There is no such thing as the death penalty in this country. Let alone without a fair trial."

[ayoungboy]

"Well, when we're stopping your assassins, they're usually trying to kill us back." Merlin defended. "There's only so much stunning you can do."

"Fair trial? And how do you intend to secure them to endure this trial?"

[royalpratness]

"I don't know, you're the witch." Arthur is well aware that dealing with magic users is way beyond the capabilities of his men. This isn't really the time or the place to discuss this issue. "Okay, you just.." He waves a hand. "Do whatever you want with them."

[ayoungboy]

"The council usually kills rouge or misusing practitioners." Merlin says seriously. "They can't afford more prejudice against magic when it's already so high."

[royalpratness]

"That's radical." Arthur scrubs a hand over his face. "But I can see why you'd consider it necessary."

[ayoungboy]

"Unfortunately," Merlin's heels clack as he moves over towards the men. "It's deemed necessary. Especially when they're shooting killing curses at my master."

[royalpratness]

"Okay. You better get going..." Arthur glances around the room where everybody is still in uproar.

[ayoungboy]

"Call him if you are in need of assistance." Merlin's eyes burn gold as he stares at Arthur. "I will be back shortly."

[royalpratness]

"Okay. Thanks." Arthur turns back towards the room, trying to calm everyone down. Most of the head of states have already left the room in fear for their lives. "Great." He sighs, assuring the knights that he's alright. Five minutes later, the meeting is officially dismissed and Arthur retreats into his chambers.

Merlin appears as himself, though he's still in the dress. "Are you alright?" He demands, grabbing Arthur by the shoulders to pull him closer and examine him.

[royalpratness]

"Woah, hello to you too. Yes, I'm okay, Merlin. They barely got within twenty feet of me before you appeared." He can't help but grin, seeing Merlin still wearing the dress.

[ayoungboy]

"That's way too close." Merlin's expression turns soft, apologetic. "I'm so sorry, Arthur. I was tied up...but the second I realized..."

[royalpratness]

"You don't have anything to apologise for." Arthur frowns at Merlin. "You just saved my ass."

[ayoungboy]

"They almost got you!" Merlin says, hands still tight on Arthur's biceps. It's clear he's stressed.

[royalpratness]

"Hey." Arthur's tone becomes more gentle and he puts his hands on Merlin's waist, steadying him. "No, they didn't. Everything's okay, thanks to you."

[ayoungboy]

"The did. They almost - if I'd been a second later..." Merlin takes a deep breath when Arthur puts his hands on his waist. "I'm sorry. It won't happen again..."

[royalpratness]

"Merlin." Arthur gives him a stern look. "I told you, everything is fine and I don't have a single scratch on me. Now Relax."

[ayoungboy]

"Sorry I'm - sorry. God, I'm still in the bloody dress..." Merlin closes his eyes, taking a deep breath.

[royalpratness]

"You are." Arthur grins, rubbing his hands over Merlin's sides. "It looks very fetching."

[ayoungboy]

Merlin laughs nervously, relaxing a little. "Sorry bout that."

[royalpratness]

"I don't mind. You make a good drag queen." He teases. "Do you have time for a cup of tea?" After all this is England, the country were tea solves everything.

[ayoungboy]

Merlin blushes and nods, ducking his head. "Yeah..."

[royalpratness]

"Good." Arthur smiles, pleased that Merlin is going to stay for a while. "Do you want to get changed into some of my clothes for the time being?"

[ayoungboy]

"Ah, yes please." Merlin nods, flushing as he glances down at the dress. He's still wearing the bra, too.
