Spellbound

This week has been fucking exhausting. He'd been consuling all week and dealing with a threat over in Norway. Somebody trying to brew mind control potions, again. Why couldn't everybody just get along and stop fussing? He's finally back home, in England, heading up the wizarding council while they go over worldwide news, and he gets an invite - no, it isn't that. It's more of a demand, from King Pendragon.

He's a bit tired, really, and didn't feel like dealing with it. "Not now, thank you. Politely decline, for me?" He told the runner. "Send him some magical candy."

He just wanted to go home and finish his book, thank you. He didn't ask for these powers, but if he took a holiday the world would flip out. People held him in high regard for some reason - he wasn't that wise, or old. He was just a young man trying to do right. Yet somehow the King was demanding his presence.

"That doesn't make it any less important. Now lean back, drink your tea and relax."

Merlin smiles gratefully and falls silent, taking a sip.

Arthur leans back in his chair, smiling at Merlin over the rim of his tea cup.

"And you're sure you're alright?" Merlin asks again, relaxing slowly into his seat.

[royalpratness]

"I'm fine. I told you they didn't get anywhere close to me. My knights are pretty freaked out though."

[ayoungboy]

"I can talk to them, as Mary, if you'd like?"

[royalpratness]

"Yes, that's a good idea. It might help to explains things to them."

[ayoungboy]

"None of them will try to grab me, aye?" Merlin smiles playfully. "I'm already fake-dating the King."

[royalpratness]

"Don't worry, they all have very good manners." Arthur smiles back at him. "Yes, that must be such a chore."

[ayoungboy]

"Don't think I didn't notice the one looking at my arse." Merlin snorts and sips his tea. "Aye, I hope I can still go into town without being mobbed. I've been in the woods all bloody week."

"That must have been Gwaine." Arthur grins. "I wouldn't be too sure about it. The whole world knows your face now."

"Brunette, bit of a beard?" Merlin laughs a little. "Well, no one's going to be looking for Emrys in plain sight."

[royalpratness]

"That's him, yes. He's a bit of a flirt." That's the understatement of the year.

[ayoungboy]

"I'll drop his ass in the mud," Merlin warns, stirring his tea.

[royalpratness]

"He's not going to try anything. At least not while he's on duty."

[ayoungboy]

"Oh, great." Merlin laughs and rolls his eyes.

[royalpratness]

"He's a good guy." Not that Arthur would ever admit that to Gwaine's face. "What have you been doing in the forest? You said you've spent the past few days there."

[ayoungboy]

"Had to visit a potions master up north. He lives in a very remote area, and the whole forest is shielded. Had to trek my way to him."

[royalpratness]

Arthur pulls a face. "Sounds like fun."

[ayoungboy]

"Oh, very." Merlin says sarcastically. "I take it you thoroughly enjoyed the pictures of my wand?"

[royalpratness]

"Very much so. I look at them every night before I go to sleep." Arthur grins.

[ayoungboy]

Merlin snorts out a laugh, winking. "Glad I can provide wanking material for our Lord."

[royalpratness]

Arthur starts laughing, accidentally inhaling some of his tea and ends up coughing violently.

That just makes Merlin laugh harder, though he'd save Arthur if he were really choking.
