The circus comes into town in the late afternoon. It's a quiet caravan, but the whispers start immediately. It's not a regular circus. This one - this is the Camelot circus. One of the most esteemed traveling acts in the country, and not for the faint of heart. This one has a flaming sword eater and a terrifying magician.

A few brave people try to peek at the preparations, but once the big tent is up, all that can really be seen are food stands being set up, and a few podiums for acts unknown. Everything else is hidden from view. You want to see? Come buy a ticket.

"I'll give you a quick tour of my land." Once they are out of sight from the house, Arthur rests his chin on Merlin's shoulder.

Merlin smiles softly, tilting his head to kiss Arthur's cheek briefly. "I'd like that."

[royalpratness]

"It has been my family's land for over five generations." Arthur tells him as they ride slowly through the forest.

[ayoungboy]

"It's beautiful," Merlin compliments.

[royalpratness]

"Thanks. You haven't even seen half of it though." Arthur smiles against the back of Merlin's neck.

[ayoungboy]

Merlin laughs contently and leans back against Arthur. "Then show me?"

[royalpratness]

"That's what I'm doing. Let's ride down to the village." It's part of Arthur's land too.

[ayoungboy]

"Okay," Merlin agrees with a grin.

[royalpratness]

"Uh, on second thought, let's do that some other time. On foot." It would look very weird if they came riding into town, sharing a horse. That is not something that two grown men would usually do.

[ayoungboy]

"Sure," Merlin blushes a little.

[royalpratness]

"We'll take the scenic route instead." Arthur leads the horse to take a right turn. "See that creek over there? I used to play there as a child."

[ayoungboy]

"Guess we're not so different."

[royalpratness]

"How so?" Arthur tilts his head, glancing at Merlin.

[ayoungboy]

"I used to play in the forest all the time," Merlin smiles fondly.

[royalpratness]

"Yeah?" Arthur still looks bed at Merlin. "You grew up in a village, right? Anywhere around here?"

[ayoungboy]

"A day or two trip, yeah. Ealdor."

[royalpratness]

"I don't think I've heard about it. Do you miss being there?"

[ayoungboy]

"Sometimes. My mum still lives there. But it's a small town - not much to do, you know?"

[royalpratness]

"What did you do there when you had the time? Fishing? Hunting?"

[ayoungboy]

"Messing around with my friend Will, mainly." Merlin shrugs. "We were adventurous."

[royalpratness]

"Oh? I thought there wasn't much to do." Arthur grins.

[ayoungboy]

"We came up with games to entertain ourselves." Merlin pauses, then realizes - "Oh no, not - not like that - "

[royalpratness]

"Are you sure?" Arthur teases, leading the horse to a small path that leads them out of the forest.

[ayoungboy]

"Very," Merlin blushes a little.

sry life is ridiculously busy atm -.- can't wait for the holidays ;_;

"Okay then." They ride past a small creek and Arthur guides the horse back towards the estate. "Did Will know about your magic?"
