The circus comes into town in the late afternoon. It's a quiet caravan, but the whispers start immediately. It's not a regular circus. This one - this is the Camelot circus. One of the most esteemed traveling acts in the country, and not for the faint of heart. This one has a flaming sword eater and a terrifying magician.

A few brave people try to peek at the preparations, but once the big tent is up, all that can really be seen are food stands being set up, and a few podiums for acts unknown. Everything else is hidden from view. You want to see? Come buy a ticket.

"That makes sense." Arthur gives him a small smile. "It must have been difficult to leave all that behind."

"For a while. But once I had a general purpose at the circus, it wasn't so hard."

"Do you still want to go back there in spring?"

Not even a coffee shop or?

[ayoungboy]

"The circus? I don't know." Merlin shrugs a little. "Don't really have anywhere else to go."

I'm staying with a friend and I hope she has wifi at home XD

"You could always stay here, if you wanted." They're almost back on the estaste now and Arthur guides the horse towards the stables.

*Prayer circle*

"But I don't have work."

"There is alwasy plenty of work around the estaste." Arthur stops the horse and gracefully jumps down, back into the ground. "You have plenty of time to think it over." He holds his arms out for Merlin to help him down.

Merlin bites his lip. Staying with Arthur sounded pretty good but...what happened if Arthur got sick of him and wanted him to leave? The circus would be long gone. "Thanks."

He hands the horse over to one of the stable boys. "Do you want to join me for tea?" He offers, walking towards the house. It has gotten pretty cold inside and Arthur can't wait to sit down by the fireplace.

"Sure," Merlin nods, moving alongside Arthur.

[royalpratness]

Once back inside, they take off their coats and make themselves comfortable on the sofa, opposite to the large fireplace in Arthur's room, along with some tea that Alice has prepared. "Just what I needed."

[ayoungboy]

Merlin chuckles quietly, gently accepting his cup of tea. "Very cozy."

[royalpratness]

"Isn't it?" Arthur grins, stretching out his legs. "That's what I like best about winter."

[ayoungboy]

"Me too. When I was home, we had a fire." Not at the circus camp, though.

[royalpratness]

"It's great, especially when it's snowing outside." He smiles over at Merlin. "And it's even better when you can share it with someone."

[ayoungboy]

The sorcerer blushes, glancing down at his tea. "Only ever shared with my mum."

[royalpratness]

"Well you better get used to this." Arthur winks, sliding closer to Merlin.

[ayoungboy]

"Oh?" Merlin smiles shyly.

[royalpratness]

"Yup. We'll be spending a lot of time here." Arthur leans against Merlin's side.

[ayoungboy]

"Sounds good to me..." Merlin brushes his hand over Arthur's shoulder.

[royalpratness]

"I'm glad we agree on this." Arthur rests a hand on Merlin's arm. "Have you ever thought about starting a family?"

[ayoungboy]

Merlin coughs in surprise. "I don't think, ah, I don't that's physically possible, Arthur."

[royalpratness]

Arthur rolls his eyes but chuckles at the same time. "With a woman, Merlin."

[ayoungboy]

"I'm...not really attracted to women." Merlin gives Arthur a significant look. "I mean, I like kids. It's the whole wife bit..."

[royalpratness]

"I know what you mean." Arthur sighs, staring into the fire. "I'd love to have children."
